Beautiful Lago Atitlan

Lago Atitlan is as tranquil lake about 4 hours west of Guatemala City. It is surrounded by small villages and rather large volcanos. You can go there to get away from it all and I spent way to little time there to explore it. Unfortunately it was also very affected by Hurricane Stan where entire villages were swept away by huge mudslides. The remnants of the disaster are still visible but much has been rebuilt.
